We are happy to sponsor the UHU’s

What could be more obvious for a hotel with “UHU” in it’s name to get involved in a very specific way for these wonderful birds? We contacted the “Leidenhausen” bird of prey station in Cologne’s Königsforst and sponsored two eagle owls that live there. Whenever we ride our bikes in the Königsforst, we always like to stop there. We mean … they both know each other by now.

Care starts with the breakfast

We don’t use rubbish bins on the breakfast table because we avoid packaging waste with very simple means. In our kitchen we only use fresh products that we prefer to get from regional, responsible farmers. Your breakfast egg for example comes from the Kutscher poultry farm in Wermelskirchen and our coffee and tea varieties bear the Fairtrade seal.

For us, sustainability starts with small details.

Advantage modern technology

In the Hotel UHU, ecologically optimized technology has priority. It starts with energy-efficient LED lights and motion detectors, and these not only help to reduce our power consumption. Don’t be afraid to invest: Based on the ingenious combined heat and power system our two own block power plants generate almost 90 percent of our electricity consumption and almost 75 percent of our heating energy.
